Could your employer help you spread the cost?
Cycle to Work
Many UK employees can get an e-bike through a Cycle to Work scheme, spreading the cost through payroll and potentially saving on tax and National Insurance.
Not sure if your employer offers one? It may be worth asking HR — many people are eligible without realising.

✔ Stands out for: retro cruiser looks, padded bench-style saddle and 20 × 4-inch Kenda tyres
✔ Better than most for: hydraulic disc braking, removable battery and included lights and carrier
✖ Trade-off: around 25kg with a relatively modest 374Wh battery; check the one-size cruiser fit
The 88S Fatboy is about more than its striking motorcycle-inspired outline. The value is in the complete cruiser package: bold bespoke styling, wide Kenda tyres, hydraulic disc braking and useful everyday equipment in a UK EAPC pedal-assist bike.
01
Genuine cruiser character
A long bench-style saddle, swept-back handlebars, round headlight and substantial 20 × 4-inch tyres make this a distinctive choice for laid-back journeys. Black or brown trim and black or gold rims give you a more individual finish.
02
Comfort and confident braking
Wide Kenda K1032 tyres provide useful cushioning over imperfect tarmac, assisted by an alloy suspension fork. Hydraulic disc brakes at both wheels offer controlled stopping power, an especially worthwhile feature on a cruiser weighing around 25kg.
03
Useful equipment already included
The 250W rear-hub motor provides pedal assistance up to 15.5mph, with nine assistance levels controlled via the LCD display. A removable battery, front and rear lights, mudguards and a rear carrier make it better equipped for everyday use than looks alone might suggest.
About the Red Rocket 88S Fatboy
The Red Rocket 88S Fatboy combines motorcycle-inspired cruiser styling with the everyday freedom of a pedal-assist electric bike. Its long padded bench-style saddle, swept-back handlebars, round headlamp and substantial 20 × 4-inch tyres give it a character all of its own, whether you're heading into town or riding along the seafront.
Underneath the retro looks is a 250W rear-hub motor providing assistance up to 15.5mph (25km/h), powered by a removable 36V 10.4Ah battery (approximately 374Wh). An LCD display offers nine pedal-assist levels, while Shimano rear gearing helps you find a comfortable pedalling rhythm. We estimate a conservative 13–27-mile range, depending on rider, route, conditions and assistance level.
The alloy frame, suspension fork and wide Kenda K1032 tyres help make everyday cruising comfortable on imperfect tarmac. Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide confident control, and the included mudguards, round headlight, rear light and carrier mean the Fatboy is equipped for practical riding as well as making an impression.
Sizing & Fit
One-size cruiser design with a manufacturer-quoted saddle height of approximately 850mm. The long bench-style saddle and riding position differ from those of a conventional bicycle, so check reach, leg extension and comfortable pedalling position before ordering. The bike weighs approximately 25kg, which is worth considering for carrying or storage.
